Hi Everyone!!! I super excited today to tell you that I’m part of the Awesome Red White Blue Series over at Sugar Bee Crafts – If you are looking for all things patriotic be sure to check out all the other amazing projects over there.
The project that I’d like to show you how to make is a Patriotic Banner.
These are the supplies you will need:
burlap
contact paper to make stencil
spray paint
Silhouette, Cricut or x acto knife.
spray paint
Step 1: Take your burlap and cut your burlap into individual pieces. I cut my pieces into rectangles first and then rounded them after they were painted.
Decide on what you want you pieces to look like. I wanted a chevron and I wanted stars. My designs were from Silhouette. I cut my designs out of contact paper using my Silhouette. If you don’t have a Silhouette you can always cut your designs out with an x acto knife.
Note: I used the positive and negative part of the hearts and the chevron designs.
Once my designs were laid down I spray painted them four different colors.
Note: You will see the contact start to curl after it’s been on it for a few minutes. It didn’t affect my end result.
Once dry, take off contact paper and trim the pieces. I rounded mine.
I chose to hang mine on a piece of twine. To keep with the rustic look I spray painted clothes pins.
I then hung them.
I LOVE the look of it with my whole mantel.
If you are interested in how I made my window pane flag check out this post.
