So what are you focusing on? Right now you could be having a myriad of thoughts flowing through your head. Stop for a second and look back at what you were just thinking about. Was it life-giving? or destructive? Now look back on what your focus has been for the last week, the last month, the last year?? Are you thinking thoughts that build you up or destroy you?
For most of my life, I’ve lived with a very destructive thought life and I didn’t know that it didn’t have to be this way. I thought (or didn’t think) that was just who I was. Let me tell you that it was a BIG LIE! I can control if I think good things or bad things. And I’ve discovered that what I focus on grows.
Do you like where your life is? The growth that’s taking place in your life?
Or are you discouraged and depressed with where your life is?
If you like where your life is then I can guarantee it’s because you have been thinking life-giving positive thoughts. If you don’t like where your life is that I can guarantee you have been focusing on how bad your life sucks, how you just can’t get it together.
Have you ever had something that irritates you from your significant other? You start out thinking about how wrong that situation was and then that leads us to start thinking back over the whole relationship and all a sudden all we see is the bad.
Action Steps:
Take 5 minutes and look at what you are thinking about? Write down what you see in the following areas?
Life?
Yourself?
Your kids?
Your relationship?
Career?
If all you see on that paper is negative things then cross those out and write down what you want to happen. Put that positive mindset back into your life.
I have to tell you that just writing this post I’ve seen somethings that I’m focusing on that isn’t what I want. So, I’m right there in this with you. We don’t have to be victims of our thoughts. Let’s make the changes to live life fully alive.
Did you see areas of thought you need to change? Drop me a note and let me know.
Are the thoughts your thinking leading you to success?
