You’re not angry anymore.
You’re not even frustrated.
You’re just… tired.
Tired of being the one who brings things up.
Tired of holding space.
Tired of hoping for a response that feels like connection—and not just a shrug.
You’ve been strong. You’ve been patient. You’ve tried.
But somewhere along the way… something in you quietly shut down.
You’re not bitter.
You’re just numb.

This is what emotional fatigue in Christian marriage looks like:
-
Smiling on the outside, disconnected on the inside
-
Feeling like you’ve poured everything out and there’s nothing left to give
-
Wondering how long you can keep going like this and still call it love
And then the enemy whispers:
“You care more than he does.”
“You’re just too sensitive.”
“You’re the only one who feels this way.”
But, friend, can I tell you something?
The fact that your heart is tired doesn’t mean you’re failing.
It means you’ve cared deeply.
It means you’ve kept showing up.
It means you’re human.
And God doesn’t expect you to hold it all together.
He expects you to come to Him when you fall apart.
“Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28 NLT
3 Ways to Stay Soft Without Falling Apart
1. Rest in God’s Love, Not Your Performance
You are not more loved when you “try harder.”
You’re fully loved right now—numb and all.
Let His love be the place your heart exhales.
Pray this:
“Jesus, I’m tired. Remind me that you’re not asking for effort—you’re asking for me, raw and tired.”
2. Tend to the Parts of You That Are Withering
Softness doesn’t mean pretending you’re fine.
It means gently caring for what’s been ignored.
Ask yourself:
-
What do I need emotionally right now?
-
Where have I stopped asking God for help?
Begin again. Even with just one deep breath and whispered prayer.
3. Let Someone Pour Into You
You weren’t created to carry emotional weight alone.
Reach out to a friend, a mentor, a coach.
Let someone remind you:
You are not forgotten. You are not too much. You are not alone.

-
What am I tired of pretending doesn’t hurt?
-
What would it look like to be kind to myself this week?
-
What part of my heart needs God’s tenderness right now?
It’s okay to feel tired.
It’s okay to admit that your soul feels worn.
But it’s not okay to stay disconnected from the One who wants to restore you.
You don’t have to shut down to protect your heart.
You just need to let God tend to it first.
Stay soft—not because it’s easy, but because it’s holy.
And trust that even now…
He’s still in this with you. 💛
