16 Outdoor DIY Tutorials

May 31, 2013

I LOVE gardening and decorating my yard with awesomeness so I thought I’d share with you 16 Outdoor DIY Tutorials that I have done for my yard and gardens.  I hope you can find something here that inspires you to create beauty in your yard.

First up is my DIY Bird Feeder made from a bowl and saucer.  I put this bird feeder right outside my bedroom window and I get to see birds often.  On top of that, I get to stare at the fun colors on the feeder.

This is one of my first blog projects and I LOVE it!  This is something that will come back every year. Just use an old window frame and create a piece of art.

This project is my All Weather Pillows made from a vinyl table cloth.  Come check out how easy they were to make.

Here is my All Weather Bunting made from reusable bags.

This project was made from old fence posts we had on hand, so FREE for me!
DIY Pyramid Trellis
The pattern for this bench was taken from a bench I bought at a garage sale for 2.00.  We used that bench until it literally fell apart.

This Lamp Birdbath/Feeder is awesome!  I LOVE eclectic things and this certainly fits eclectic.  The birds love it as well.

My painted glass flowers add a LOT of colors to my garden, especially when I’m waiting for my flowers to bloom.

This is a new project for me this year. I can’t wait until the flowers fill in.  The best part is they were pretty inexpensive to make.
Knock Off Flower Tower
These flowers here were made from pop cans.  A little paint and a stick and you’re all set with some fun color in your gardens.

I LOVE looking at my bright palette herb garden.  So quick and easy to go snip some herbs and pretty to look at as well.

This bench was made from a Twin size headboard. Quick, Easy and cheap!

I LOVE seeing the fun, bright colors in my garden and herb garden.  Free printables provided for you to make your own.
 DIY Plant Markers
Another one of my eclectic pieces.  This sits on my front porch to add some beauty and interest.

This House Number Sign project has added so much curb appeal to our house!  I LOVE it!

So many great outdoor ideas. Loved all of them, well shown. Loved the idea of making outdoor pillows out of a vinyl tablecloth, that I can afford, just need to make quick trip to Family $. I'll also buy a light plastic tablecloth to make the flags for a bunting or get some bags at $tree next time we're in town. Think for me the tablecloth would be more cost effective. I'll use burlap as backing for the flags. After I get done with those I'll be deciding what I want to make next. We've been cleaning up our back deck and our back yard so we can enjoy it much more and invite people over. Now if we could just get help putting up our pergola. Gets extremely hot on our back deck in the summer as it faces west. Happy Weekend

What a fun roundup of thrift-ed finds. Makes me wish my garden was bigger so I could incorporate more! Using the vinyl tablecloths for pillow covers is a great idea!

Those are some seriously great DIY projects! I adore the outdoor pillows and bunting — such a cute idea! I also really like your flower tower. It's too late to do that here, but I'm keeping it (Pinning) in mind for the Fall!

What a great collection! I have a new house with a very barren yard, so I've been on the hunt for clever things to do in the yard. Thank you so much for coming by and partying with us!Robin @ Fluster Buster

These are all so cute! I need a new bench for our yard. I also have one that is literally falling apart, and my husband won’t get rid of it until we have one to replace it!

Hi Barb. Boy Did I Miss YOU! Somehow I lost you in Spam! I had to go & look for something last week, plus empty out junk & I found you there & said : What is This doing in Spam? I had been missing a lot of Other things too & needed to unsubscribe from things I simply had no time for at this point in my life: but knew I did not get rid of others & couldn’t figure out if they shut down or what & if maybe I missed out because I was otherwise busy & hadn’t been able to get to it yet. It has happened before. You know the saying: life happens when making other plans. Things do come up & we get busy w/ those things. But I am so glad to have you back again. I love all of the tutorials & outdoor DIY projects! Love the colors. I will be busy making Some garden ornaments. Very Cute Bird Feeder & Flower Garden Art! I will have to visit the site to see what else I missed since Christmas/ Jan. That is the last time I remember seeing any of your emails in my inbox-so I’m sure I missed something good. I always look forward to yours! Hope you & your family are well. Thanks for all you do.

Thank you so much, Karen, for your very kind supporting words. Sometimes I feel like I’m writing and no one is listening. Life is very busy for all of us. So glad you found some ideas. I’d love to see some pictures if you do decide to make anything. 🙂
