Confession time!!! I am just finishing my Christmas decorating and we are 14 days from Christmas! I am NEVER this late but losing that week at Thanksgiving really messed me up. I am NOT giving into a panic but remembering why we are celebrating Christmas and really trying to enjoy the process. I’d like to share my DIY Christmas “JOY” Mantel with you. I actually made this in the middle of November but just decorated my mantel yesterday.
Supplies needed:
paint in Christmas colors
Large JOY letters from Michael’s
Canvas- mine is 36 x 42 that I found at Goodwill for $3.99
Textured wallpaper- I had a roll laying around
Ribbon
3 Christmas picks
Cut the wallpaper to fit the canvas. I did 3 strips. Adhere to the wallpaper.
Paint the wallpaper.
Paint each of your letters.
Add your ribbon and letters
and your picks. I used a hot glue gun to attach them.
I hot glued those large snowflakes from the Dollar Store onto the canvas to give it some extra dimension.
