Tanya from Twelve O’ Eight created this fun Spring Wreath and I LOVED it and wanted to make a similar one for my front porch.
Didn’t she do a great job???
I loved the fun banner she used on the wreath and I thought it would be just perfect to display my house numbers. Here is my knock off of Tonya’s wreath.
Here is how I made mine.
Supplies used:
Pool Noodle
Duct Tape
1 yd of Burlap cut in 2″ strips
Flowers for embellishing
1 pkg of chipboard pennants- you could easily cut your own
muslin trim
1 yd of lace trim
2 pieces of patterned paper or cardstock- one for pennant and one for house numbers
Strip of coordinating muslin, ribbon or twine
Take your pool noodle and duct tape the ends together. Don’t you love my fun sports duct tape? That was for my grandson. He eats, drinks and sleeps balls.
Wrap your wreath with burlap.
Trace your pennants on your card stock and cut them out.
Cut out your numbers with a cricut or use stickers or chipboard numbers, Adhere to the pennants.
Thread your pennant onto ribbon, twine or muslin like I chose. Lay the pennant where you would like to place it so you know where to glue your flowers.
Cut your flowers down short and start placing them where you would like them to be using hot glue.
Cut your lace and place where you would like it to go. Hot glue the lace on your wreath.
I added a strip of burlap at the top of the pennant to add a little texture and color.
I also embellished the pennant with flowers and a butterfly that I had in my craft stash.
Glue everything in place.
Hang in your favorite spot and enjoy your project all spring time long. In my neck of the woods I have to have an artificial spring. I still have snow up to my knees. 🙁 So, I’m pretending spring is here with my decor.
As you can see my numbers are different that the original pictures. I often do that. I start in one direction look at it and decide I don’t really like it and redo it. I don’t always remember to take pictures because I get so deep into the creative process. Gotta work on that!
