I want to share a quick and easy Fathers Day gift idea with you. Something easy enough for the kids to do. It’s a personalized Sharpie mug. Oh and I forgot to mention it’s also inexpensive.
To make, follow these simple instructions:
Gather your supplies.
You will need a mug- mine came from the dollar store.
Stickers- you can always find some in the 1.00 section of Target or the Dollar Store
Sharpie Markers
Our grand kids call Jim and I, Gpa & Gma. So I thought it would be fun to personalize a cup for Gpa to take to work to drink his coffee out of. Here is how I did it.
1. Place the stickers on the cup to spell out what you want it to say.
2. Color in around the stickers. I colored first and then added dots.
3. Remove the stickers. I colored in where the stickers were with a black sharpie. This isn’t necessary if you like it without.
4. I added a decorative trim around the top and bottom of cup.
I also made another cup for him. A “Go Blue” cup as my grandson Ridge would say. In our house we LOVE U of M. I took a large M sticker and traced around it. While the sticker is in place add your dots. I did blue and yellow of course. I removed the sticker and colored in the M and then went around it all with a straight stitch.
Next take your mugs and bake them in the oven at 350 for 30 min. NOTE: I have read that they are dishwasher safe and I have read that they are not. I will be hand washing mine.
Once they have cooled take something dad loves and fill the cup with it. I put golf balls in there. But I could have put golf tees, a golf divot, a golf glove, a money clip, his favorite candy, a new work pen and the list could go on and on. Choose their favorite things.
Wrap with clear cellophane and add a chalkboard Formica tag and bow and you have a special personalized gift.
This idea could also be used for any holiday or birthday.

So fun! I love personalized things. I never thought of using stickers as guides. Brilliant! Love it! Thanks a bunch!!
Easy & fun, thanks for the idea! 🙂 Michelle
I love using the stickers, I was looking for ways to make a clean design as well, tried a few things. Regular stickers, so smart! I tried foam stickers and cut outs of my kids hands…found you via All Things Pretty Bloghop, here is my mug and saucer set…as well as the process I went through…mine ended up not being dishwasher safe so I redid them with different markers…. http://lalymom.blogspot.com/2013/06/spoiler-alert…
